Translation Between Kauffman and Murray Number Systems

 | As you read through Rev. Murray's great booklet, Neff Families and Their Descendants in the 1770s and 1800s or articles in Neff News, you'll notice several Neff-Kauffman marriages. These same marriages are also mentioned in the book Kauffman-Coffman Family, by Charles F. Kauffman. The table below will help you match up the various family lines between the two books.
(Please note that Rev. Murray's booklet is out of print and no longer
available. But updates on each line are available and several new lines have
been added. John can be contacted at

 | ** Kauffman's description of this family is not an exact match to the known info about them. He may have
accidentally combined two different Neff families in his description. His "Catherine Barbara" does not match "Barbara" who married someone other than a Kauffman. |
 | There are many more Neff-Kauffman marriages listed in the Kauffman-Coffman book which I have not yet cross referenced to Rev. Murray's work. |
 | A little known, but valuable Neff Genealogy resource is Rev. John Murray's booklet titled, Neff Families and Their Descendants in the 1700's and early 1800's. His booklet is a product of his years spent in Pa. archives reading wills and other ancient records. If your line ties in with one of the hundreds of families listed in it, you'll have a century of data available instantly.
Please note that this booklet is out of print and no longer available.
