I think I have everything in the text files that has been submitted up through March 2000. The newest names have been added to the bottom of each page. Some of them may take some time to load, so please be patient. If you submitted info after March, please resend it.
The text files are becoming large and hard to manage, which is one reason I had to remove the death index for awhile. I knew it needed to go into a database-type website but didn't know how to do it.
Once again, RootsWeb has saved the day! They have agreed to let us put this database at their site and they will maintain it. I can still add stuff to it tho. I hope you all will help me get the info ready for RootsWeb by checking the info you submitted and letting me know any corrections I need to make.
THANK YOU ALL FOR HELPING :))
If you would like to have
your deaths listed here, please send me the person's Name, City and/or County where
they died (you can include the cemetery), the date and Spouses name. If you'd like, you can send me your gedcom and I can
extract the info from it and post it. Would save much typing!
Please take the time to submit the
info you have on people who died in Missouri. Sharing is what has gotten us this
far. Remember: THE MORE WE SHARE, THE MORE WE HAVE TO SHARE.
Click on the letter to go to the page with surnames beginning with that letter.
All pages are in text format. Some have quite a few names on them, so be patient
and wait to load.
Links Page: Here are more links to good sites to search
for those who died in MO. I invite you to send me your listing of any items you
may have in which you will do look-ups regarding deaths in Missouri or your web
pages that have Missouri death or cemetery info on them. Also, you can join our
mailing list or volunteer to help.
I also urge you to visit Missouri
GenWeb Page. There are links to each county in the Missouri GenWeb Project
and to lots of cemeteries, the MO Tombstone Project and many other helpful
links.
This is not
any kind of 'official' listing, only a compilation of info sent to me by
others along with my own info and that of some cousins. While it is not perfect,
I feel that it could benefit others researching in MO as there seems to be no
official death index.
This website is maintained by Nettie Mae. Not everything is documented, so if it's really important to your research, track down those sources! |
