Above:  The Brantford Courier of December 16, 1915.  Following an intense three month recruiting drive the 125th Battalion (the first comprised entirely of men from Brantford and Brant county, a total of 1100 all ranks) departed by train for overseas on July 4, 1916.

 

Below:  The Attestation paper of Herbert Newrick who joined the 125th Battalion at Brantford on February 8, 1916.  It is signed by Capt. G.M. Hanna, Medical Officer and Lt. Col. M.F.B. Cutcliffe, Commanding Officer.
