MARY W. WILLIAMS, GRANDMOTHER OF 38, DIES AT AGE 97
Mrs. Mary M. Williams, 97, of 544 Chicora Rd., died Saturday [August 23, 
1986] at Butler Memorial Hospital, after an illness.  Born in Oakland 
Township, Feb. 7, 1889, she was the daughter of Jacob and Frances Kempe 
Weiland.  She was a member of St. Wendelin's Roman Catholic Church, Carbon 
Center, and the Christian Mothers of the church.  She was a Gold Star mother 
of World War II.  Her husband, Henry T. Williams, died March 10, 1960. 
Surviving are two sons, Paul J. ad Knute E. Williams, both of Butler; five 
daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Daubenspeck and Mrs. Harold (Bessie) Newell, both of 
Butler, Mrs. William (Ruth) Wallace of Sharpsburg, and Mrs. Robert (Marian) 
Deal, both of Butler; a sister, Mrs. Edward (Margaret) Patten of Butler R.D. 
1; 53 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.  Two sons preceded her in 
death.

WILLIAMS - Friends of Mrs. Mary W. Williams of 544 Chicora Rd., who died
Saturday, August 23, 1986, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 
E. Cunningham St., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.  Funeral services will 
be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from St. Wendelin's Roman Catholic Church, Carbon 
Center, with the Rev. Wendel Molipki, O.F.M. Cap, officiating.  Burial will 
be in the church cemetery.  Arrangements by Geibel.  Rosary will be recited 
at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
