HEAD INJURY FATAL TO BUTLER MAN
Harry E. Penrod, 61, of the Bowman Hotel, died at 6:30 p.m. yesterday at 
Shady Side Hospital, Pittsburgh. Death was attributed to a skull fracture 
suffered in a fall Tuesday afternoon. Coroner J. Clinton Atwell reported 
Penrod fractured his skull in a fall down the stairs at the home of his 
daughter in Herman.  The Butler Ambulance Service reported Penrod was taken 
by automobile to the Herman home of Harry L. Penrod.  The ambulance took him 
from there at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to Butler County Memorial Hospital, and he 
was transferred to Shady Side at 11:30 p.m.  Harry E. Penrod was born in 
Summerhill, Pa., Dec. 23, 1905, a son of John E. and Treva Belle Graffuis 
Penrod. He was a former employee of the Fennell Landscaping Company.    
Surviving are three sons, Harry L. of Herman, Kenneth C. and Gary J., both of 
Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Jennie) Bruno of Butler, 
Mrs. Paul (Virginia) Souhworth of Fenelton, and Mrs. Blaine (Lorraine) 
Karenbauer of Herman; a brother, James Arthur Penrod of Avella, Pa.; 21 
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
