Mamdouh Abdel-Fattah Sharara (46)

On Thursday, January 4th in his mother's home in Alexandria, Egypt
of a sudden heart attack after a three year battle with leukemia. A
faculty member of the Statistics Laboratory at the University of
Maryland, College Park and an active leader in the Egyptian community
in the Washington area.  Husband of Norma (Meinert) Sharara, father of Amira
Sharara; also survived by his mother, Emtithal Abdel-Ghany and sisters,
Mariam and Mervette Sharara, all of Alexandria, Egypt. Memorial service
will be held at a later date.
