Clara Ellen (Marshall) Smith

Mrs. Clara Ellen Marshall Smith, 63, wife of John D. Smith, of 1005 Brackenridge Avenue, died in the Allegneny Valley Hospital this morning at 1:45. Death was due directly to pneumonia. She had been in poor health, however, for three years.

Mrs. Smith was one of the best known residents of the community, having lived in Brackenridge for 40 years. She was a devout member of the First United Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are the husband, five sons: J. Ronald, of Tarentum, well known mail carrier; Howard E. of Natrona Heights; Daniel M??(blurred), Kermit E. and Hollis H. at home; two daughters: Mrs. Georgella Thorn of Canton, O., and Mrs. Leona E. Stivenson, of Natrona Heights; one step-daughter, Mrs. Florence M. Hunter, of Brackenridge; four sisters: Mrs. Rebecca McIntyre, of near Gibsonia; Mrs. Martha Scott, of Allison Park; Mrs. Mary Dawson, of near Tarentum; and Mrs. Emma Schwab, of near Gibsonia. Eleven grandchildren, five step-grandchldren, and three greatgrand step-children also survive.

Funeral services will be held in the home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. William J. Dickey in charge. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery.
