George Eshman aged 75, a pioneer resident of Sharpsburg, is dead at his late residence, 50 Penn St., Sharpsburg, after a lingering illness.
Mr. Eshman conducted a cigar manufacturing business in Sharpsburg for many years and was one of the oldest residents of the borough. He was a son of Nicholas Eshman, a contemporary of James Sharp, after whom the borough was named.
Mr. Eshman is survived by his widow, Mrs. Christina (1)Forster (2)Eshman, (nee Gemmel) four sons, George, John, Nicholas and Joseph Eshman, all of Sharpsburg, one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Richie, of Lawrenceville; and one sister Mrs. Philomena Snyder, of Sharpsburg. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church of Sharpsburg.

Eschmann - On Saturday, Feb. 13, 1915, at 6:20 p.m., George Eschmann, in his 75th year. Funeral from his late residence, 50 Penn St., Sharpsburg, on Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 8:30 a.m. Requiem high mass at St. Mary's church at 9:00 o'clock. Friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend.
Note: Two different spellings of Eschman are attributed to "The Press". The change in the spelling of "Foster" to "Forster" is my doing, based on recent information.
