Beatrice VANCE YOURD, wife of James Dickson YOURD, died suddenly January 31, 1952, in her home, Station street, McDonald. Mrs. YOURD, a daughter of the late Jerome and Ella MCELHERRON VANCE, was born September 6, 1885, at Burgettstown. She was a resident of McDonald for the last 21 years, and formerly resided for 12 years at Imperial. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church of McDonald. Surviving besides her husband, are two sons, QMQ1 Dickson Vance YOURD, in the U. S. Navy and stations aboard the USS Hale, and William YOURD of Weirton, W. Va.; one daughter, Jean, wife of Williams BURNS, of McDonald; two sisters, Mrs. C. W. MCHENNEY, of Kittanning, and Miss Daise Foster VANCE of St. Petersburg, Fla., and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Rogers funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Donald L. AIREY. Burial was in the Oakdale cemetery. ---- (Source: Feb. 7, 1952 Obits.
