Louis James WEIR, 77, died Sunday morning, September 7, 1947, at 4:00 o'clock in his home in Third street after an illness of several months. Mr. WEIR was born September 25, 1870, in Robinson township, Allegheny county, moving to McDonald in 1905. He was employed as a steam engineer for the Pittsburgh Coal Co. for a number of years, retiring in 1940. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church and served on the local board of trustees the past 20 years. Mr. and Mrs. WEIR observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary in October 1944. Besides his wife, Mrs. Jennie MARSHALL WEIR, he is survived by three children: Mrs. A. R. REID, R. D. 1, Library, Raymond M. WEIR, McDonald, and Mrs. Fred C. MC GREW, R. D. 1, McDonald. A brother, Albert WEIR of Imperial also survives. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in his late home in charge of the Rev. Joseph H. RODGERS.
