T.D. GLADDEN DIES SUDDENLY AT HOME (Picture with article) Thomas Donaldson GLADDEN, 78, died suddenly at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 1960 in his home in Gladden Heights, R. D. 3, McDonald. A son of the late J. R. and Sarah McCONNELL GLADDEN, he was born January 13, 1882 in Gladden. He was a life-long member of the First Presbyterian Church, McDonald, was a graduate of Trinity Academy in Washington, and was a charter member of the Komoko Club, McDonald. He had served as tax collector of Cecil Township, as a member of the Cecil Township school board, as area road supervisor for the Pennsylvania Department of Highways, as a member of the Board of Directors of Robinson's Run Cemetery Association, and as a member of the advisory board of the McDonald Office of the Pittsburgh National Bank. He is survived by five sons, James D. GLADDEN of Elmhurst, Ill., George D. GLADDEN of McDonald, Richard L. GLADDEN of Washington Crossing, and Edward F. GLADDEN, at home. There are six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His wife, the former Phillipine LAVIE, died in 1955. Friends are being received at the Rogers funeral home, McDonald. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the family home in charge of the Rev. Edward R. DeLAIR, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, McDonald, and Dr. A. A. LOVE of McDonald.
