Mrs. Lizzie ARMSTEAD, 67, of Brook street, McDonald, died suddenly at 10:00 a.m. Thursday evening, July 17, 1952, from a heart ailment. She was born April 30, 1885, at Crest Hill, Va. She had been a resident of McDonald for the past 50 years, where she was a member of the First Baptist church, a member of the Missionary choir and chaplain of the Missionary society. Mrs. ARMSTEAD is survived by her husband, Ulysses ARMSTEAD; two sons, Carl POWELL of McDonald, and James POWELL of Oakdale; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn DEXTER of Muse, and Mrs. Virginia JOHNSON of Cleveland, Ohio; two brothers, William THORNTON of McDonald, and Edward THORNTON of Detroit, Mich., and three sisters, Mrs. Mary HILL and Mrs. Jennie BENNETT, both of McDonald, and Grace Edmonds of Canonsburg. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the First Baptist church in charge of the Rev. William MCCLELLAND. Burial was in Robinson's Run cemetery. ---- (Source: July 24, 1952, Obits.
