Hugh A. JOYNT Obituary
Hugh A. JOYNT, 51, died at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 1931, in the
Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh, following an operation for ulcers of the
stomach.  He had been sick since December 11.
 A son of Frederick C. and Katherine CAMPBELL JOYNT he was born October 10,
1879, in Rouseville, Venango county. He first attended the Hall school and
then the Robinson township Allegheny county, schools.  He was united in
marriage with Maude M. CURRY in Pittsburgh on May, 1903, by the Rev. F. H.
SENFT.  They resided for a time in Gayly, going from there to Goulds, Ohio
where they lived for 7 years.  The removed to Hopedale and a year later came
to McDonald, and her they have resided the past twenty years.
 Besides his wife he leaves two sons, and a daughter:  H. Merle, E. Homer,
and Mable (sic) M. JOYNT, all at home.  Two brothers survive; George H.
JOYNT of Burgettstown and Albert S. JOYNT of Swissvale.  His mother died in
1907 and his father died in 1908. and a brother John died in 1913.
 He was a member of the Maccabees of Gayly and of the IOOF of McDonald.  He
was a member of the McDonald Methodist Episcopal church.
 Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the McDonald M. E. church,
conducted by the pastor the Rev. L. G. RICHEY, who was assisted by a former
pastor, the Rev. J. H. DEBOLT, now of East Washington.  Burial was Monday
morning in the Robinson's Run cemetery.
