William Bertram AVERY, 56, died at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday March 4, 1931, in his home, Fayette street, Oakdale, after a week's illness of pneumonia and complications. Mr. AVERY was born September 30, 1874, in Cherrytree, Pa. He was the eldest son of the late Charles Lynn and Alabama AVERY. With his parents, he moved from Kennerdell, Pa. (sic) during the oil excitement and settled at Noblestown. For many years he was an employee of the South Penn Oil company and for the past several years had been employed my Simpson brothers at Oakdale. He was united with Miss Mary ROY of Noblestown. He was a member of the Oakdale band at the time it was known as the Oakdale Cornet band. He was also a member of Oakdale Hose Co. No. 1, a member of the Oakdale United Presbyterian church and a member of Tent 39, Order of Maccabbees, of McDonald. He led a quiet life, but had a large circle of friends. His only brother Floyd S.AVERY died less than a year ago. He leaves his wife Mrs. Mary ROY AVERY, a sister Mrs. Goldie AVERY BAUMANN, wife of George BAUMANN of Imperial, and two nieces and nephews-Mrs. Orville BECK of Morristown, Ind., Harry BAUMANN of Imperial, and the AVERY twins Charles L. and M. Thelma AVERY of Oakdale. Funeral services were held at two o'clock this Friday afternoon in the home in Oakdale, conducted by his pastor the Rev. E.A.DOWEY, who will be assisted by the Rev. W. R.
