Funeral services for Joseph D. Holmes, 72, who died in the home of his sister-in-law Mrs. Luella HOLMES in Washington, Saturday, February 28, 1931, following a brief illness of pneumonia, were held Tuesday afternoon in the Canonsburg U. P. church. Burial was in the Robinson's Run cemetery. Mr. HOLMES was a well known farmer of Cecil township and many friends of years standing were present at the services. ---- (Source: March 6, 1931, Obits.
