Joseph PHILLIPS Obituary
Joseph PHILLIPS, 75, died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 1931, in the
home of his son Leonard PHILLIPS in Railroad street, McDonald, after a week'
s illness of heart trouble.
 Mr. PHILLIPS was born October 11, 1855, in South Staffordshire, England, a
son of William and Elizabeth PHILLIPS.  He was united in marriage with Mary
CARVER in Staffordshire, and they came with their children to the United
States in 1911, and have lived in McDonald since.
 He is survived by his wife and four sons:  Joseph PHILLIPS, of Toronto,
Canada, Abel PHILLIPS of Pawtucket, R. I., and Harold PHILLIPS of North
street, McDonald.  A son Ernest Phillips was killed in the World war.  A
brother John Phillips of Cherry Valley also survives.  There are 11
grandchildren.
 Funeral services have been tentatively arranged for 2:30 o'clock Monday
afternoon, conditioned upon the son's arrival from Canada.  Services will be
held in the Leonard PHILLIPS home in Railroad street in charge of his pastor
the Rev. B. F. HEANY of the First Presbyterian church.  Burial will be in
the Robinson's Run cemetery.
