Archie L. WOOD, 78, of Arabella street, McDonald, died Sunday, March 26, 1961, in St. Petersburg, Fla. He was born September 19, 1883, in Primrose and was employed for many years by the Pennsylvania Railroad as a conductor. He was pensioned 13 years ago. A resident of McDonald for the past 40 years, he and his wife, since his retirement, have spent winters in St. Petersburg, Fla. A member of the McDonald Methodist Church, he had served as treasurer for a number of years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lulu B. GUTHRIE WOOD; and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mae WOOD of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. L. R. SIMPSON of Laurel Hill, McDonald. There are several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received after 12:00 noon, Friday, in the Pettit funeral home, McDonald. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, in charge of the Rev. Arthur HANNA, pastor and the Rev. C. Francis TAME, former pastor of the McDonald Methodist Church. Burial will be Monday morning in Robinson's Run cemetery. ---- (Source: March 30, 1961, Obits.
