BURGETTSTOWN MAN KILLED IN STEEL MILL Fred COOK, Jr., 28, of Burgettstown was crushed to death on July 15 by a crane while at work at the Weirton, W. Va. steel mill. Mr. COOK was a welder and had been employed at the Weirton plant for the past three years. He was born at Avella, April 10, 1923, a son of Fred COOK, Sr., of R. D. 1, McDonald, and the late Mary DEWALD COOK. He is survived by his wife, Helen GINOSKY COOL; four children, Charles, Marjorie, Floyd and Jessie, at home; his father, and the following brothers and sisters, Henry COOL of Lawrence, and Mrs. Katherine PUTT, Mrs. Dorothy KREHNOVI, Viola, Richard, Robert, Donald, Patricia, and Reginia, (sic) all of R.D. 1, McDonald. Funeral services were held on Wednesday in the Rogers funeral home in charge of the Rev. Samuel E. GLASS. Burial was in Robinson's Run cemetery. ---- (Source: July 19, 1951 Obits.
