THOMAS KINNEY DIES IN ALLEGHENY-Former Johnstowner, Who Lost His Family in
the Great Flood.

Thomas Kinney, a former Johnstowner, died at 10 o'clock yesterday morning at
the home of his nephew-Thomas Casey-No. 171 Cass avenue, Allegheny, aged
sixty-eight years.

Mr. Kinney was a resident of this place prior to the Great Flood. He was a
heater and was employed by the Cambria Iron Company for many years. For a
long time he resided in Prospect Borough, and not long before the Flood
removed to Washington street, where his son John kept a hotel.
When the South Fork Dam broke he was at home and escaped with great
difficulty. His wife, three daughters, and two grandchildren, however were
among those who perished. He is survived by seven sons.
Mr. Kinney was a member of St. Francis Xavier's Catholic Church, Allegheny,
from which place the funeral will take place at 8 o'clock to-morrow morning.
