                                    the sale of an

                                    Estate

 

            Date 6th October 1738

            Articles of Agreement Indented had made and fully agreed upon this Sixth

            day of October in the Twelfth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord

            George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Brittain and Soeforth

            in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty

            Eight between Thomas Adderly of Trinity Colledge Dublin Gentleman

            of the one part and William Giles of Westend in the Parish of

            Wickwarr in the County of Gloucestershire Gentleman of the other part as

            followeth that is to say,

First the said Thomas Adderly for and in consideration of the sum

of One Thousand One Hundred and fifty pounds of Good and Lawfull

money of Great Brittain to be paid as herein after mentoned Doth

hereby covenant and agree that he will at the costs and charges of the said

William Giles on or before the first day of November next Ensueing

the Date hereof by Such conveyances ways and means in the Law as his

councell shall reasonably advise well sufficiently convey and assure

to the said William Giles and his Heirs or to whom he or they shall appoint

for the lives for which the premises herein after mentoned are now held

by the said Thomas Adderly. All those Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditements

and premises with its appurtenants scituate lying and being in Alderly in the said

County of Gloucestershire now in possession of the said Thomas Adderly or his

undertennants and which he now holds for Ninety Nine

years if the said Thomas Adderly and Arthur Conner Second Son to William

Conner of Connervill in the County of Cork in the Kingdom of Ireland

Esquire aged about ten years and Sir John Brown of Trinity Colledge Dublin

or any or either of them shall so long live and all his right and title thereto

at and under the yearly rent of Six and Thirty Shillings payable to the said Lord or

Lords of the premises being copyhold of of Inheritance and the said William Giles for himself his

Heirs and assigns doth covenant and agree that he shall and will on Executing the said conveyances

pay unto the said Thomas Adderly his Heirs or assigns the said sum of One Thousand

One Hundred and fifty pounds as and for the purchase money for the said premises above mentoned

And it is further agreed between the partys to these ?sents that the said William Giles his Heirs

and assigns shall and may forthwith Enter into and upon the said premises and receive the rents

?nes and profitts thereof to his and their own proper life and benefitt untill the cons

money shall be fully paid and satisfyed and the said William Giles doth covenant and agree

with the said Thomas Adderly and his Heirs that he the said William Giles his Heirs or assigns

shall and will at any time within two years from the date of the said conveyance at the request

costs and charges of Matthew Eastcourt of Cam Gentleman change c life for the said Matthew

Eastcourt as is mentoned in his Lease Jn Witness our hands and seals of

day and year first above written.
