ISO my father's biological father. My father was Ralph Smith Barnes, born Oct 29,1911. My father's name at birth was Ralph Smith. His mother was Lizzie Louisa Smith, born in 1875 & died in April 1965. When my father was born his mother & father were not married. He was born in St. Joseph, MO where my grandmother had gone to be with his father. From post cards mailed to my grandmother we believe that his intials were "C. M." & through basic info from my uncle we believe my grandfather's name was Melville (greatest possibility) or Manchester. We also believe the my grandfather worked for a railroad & was in his thirties at the time my father was born. We have a picture (in my sister's possession) of a man that could be my grandfather, & my younger brother resembles him very much. The resemblance is so close that if they were standing side by side at approx. the same age, they could have passed as brothers. I don't want to interfere with anyone, but there is a very large void that noone can fill. My grandmother married a William H. Barnes in Sept, 1914 & he adopted my father & gave him the last name Barnes. If you have any info please let me know. I have a half-sister & 2 brothers that would like to know something.
