Funeral for A.O. Anderson on Tuesday

Service at Home Here and Then in Aurora Church; Lived and Worked Farm in Aurora Town for Many Years

     The funeral services for Andrew O. Anderson, conducted by Rev. J.P. Dragseth of Waseca, were held at the residence at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and 2 o'clock at the Aurora Lutheran church. Interment was made at the Aurora Lutheran cemetery.

     Among those from away who were here to attend the funeral, were Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. A.G. Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hillestad and daughter, of Amery, Wis., Mrs. Almin Mellem and son, Mrs. Henry Mellem and son of Minneapolis, Richard Hillestad and Alvin Grawberg, both of Tyndall, S.D.

     Andrew O. Anderson, aged 74 years, who died at his home, 631 East Rose street, in this city, last Saturday morning at 4 o'clock. He had been in failing health for several years, and the immediated cause of his death was a stroke which he suffered the week preceding his death.

     Mr. Anderson was born in Lardahl, Norway, March 7, 1852. He came to the United States when 23 years of age, settling on a farm in Aurora township. He married on December 16, 1889 to Engeborg Nelson. To this union two children were born, a daughter, Ella, who died February 20, 1923, and a son, Neland, who lives at home. Two grandchildren live at Amery, Wis., Burnette and [Gilford] Thompson.

     Ten years ago, Mr. Anderson retired from active work and moved to this city, where he has since resided.

     Surviving him besides his wife and son are three brothers, Ole Anderson, of this city, Albert Anderson of Pratt, and James Anderson of Amery, Wis.

Mrs. Anderson Dies at Home on Saturday

Death Occurs at Home, 631 E. Rose Street, at 11:45 A.M.; Funeral Will Be Next Tuesday in the Afternoon

     Mrs. A.O. Anderson, aged 74 years, 11 months and 6 days, died at her home at 631 East Rose street last Saturday morning at 11:45 o'clock. Her death was from heart attack. The announcement of her death comes as a shock to her relatives and many friends.

     Mrs. Anderson was born in Goodhue county January 24, 1865 and came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nels Nelson to this county in 1866. The family settled on a farm in Havana township where she attended the rural schools and grew to womanhood. She was married to Andrew O. Anderson and they settled on a farm near Pratt, where they lived. To them were born a daughter and son. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson left the farm 22 years ago and moved to Owatonna to make their home. Mr. Anderson died June 4, 1924. She was also preceded in death by her daughter.

     Mrs. Anderson is survived by her son, Neland, of this city and two grandchildren: [Burnette] and Gilford Thompson, of Austin and two sisters: Mrs. C.N. Hillestad, of this city and Mrs. J.O. Anderson, of Amery, Wis.

     The funeral will be held next Tuesday with a service at the home, 631 East Rose street at 1 o'clock in the afternoon and then at the Aurora Lutheran church at 2 o'clock. Rev. O.C. Fjelstad will officiate. The interment will be made in the cemetery by the church.
