Notes from TFH: He volunteered in Enfiled May, 1775 in Captins Hezekiah Parson's company in Colonel Pitkin's regiment. The regiment was divided, eight companies went to Cananda, and the other two companies organized into three companies, to one of which he belonged.
He arrived in Roxbury June 15th, in season to participate in the battle of Bunker Hill, two days afterwards. In August he with is company was ordered to some towns on the coast, and was at Hingham for a time previous to his discharge in Feb. 1776.
While living in Charlestown, NH., in May 1777, he enlisted with Captain Asa Walker, joining the regiment of Colonel Bellows, and marched to Fort Independance, opposit Ticonderoga, and in July, 1777 was discharged. After the war he lived in Hartland Conn., Sangerfield, NY., and Guilford, NY. He settled in Guilford about 1820. |
