Adelheid Obreiter

Adelheid Obreiter (also known as Adeline) was born in December of 1838 in Baden, Germany.

She spent her early adulthood in Cincinnati with her husband Jerome, and saw much of her brother Hermann when he was working on the riverboats. She writes a note home to her parents in one of these - it is written in German. Her first child was born in Cincinnati. The family then moved back to Pennsylvania, settling in Columbia. She lived her later years with her daughter Josephine, and died in Baltimore, where she was living with Josephine and Josephine's second husband.
