Jacob Obreiter

Jacob Obreiter

Jacob Obreiter, the youngest of Joseph and Stevanna's children, was born in January of 1855.

He left home early, and at 15 was living in Philadelphia with his sister Sarah (Theresa), where he was working as an apprentice in a wood pipe factory. Later, he took up the family trade, and became a cigar maker.

Jacob married Mary Agar about 1876.

He moved about a fair bit. By 1880, he had left Philadelphia, moving to Coatesville, PA, and then back to Lancaster. In the early 1900s, Jacob moved west - first to Kalamazoo, and later to Ft Wayne, Indiana.

He is buried at Mountain Home Cemetery in Kalamazoo.
