AVERS HUSBAND ADMITS BIGAMY

Mrs. H. A. LORD Sues to Annul Marriage, Alleging Deception

Grace V. LORD filed a petition in the equity courts yesterday for an annulment of her marriage to Harry A. LORD on the ground that he was married already when they were wed here December 19, 1917, and that he is now under indictment for bigamy on account of the offense. Accompanying the complaint is an answer from the defendant admitting all the charges.

The petition recites that at the time LORD made application for a marriage license he made oath that he had never been married before, and relying upon this she became his wife. They lived together until July 10 of this year, she says, when his legal wife appeared before the grand jury of the District and made complaint that on September 22, , 1909, she had married LORD at Union City, Pa., and that this marriage had never been dissolved. Upon this evidence the grand jury returned a true bill against him for bigamy.

C. W. FOWLER is attorney for petitioner in the case. She asks that she be permitted to resume her maiden name of Grave V. STURGIS.
