Sarah Orange, 93, of Russellville, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999, in Logan Memorial Hospital. She was born in Logan County Oct. 23, 1906 to the late John F. and Nora Self McCormick. Mrs. Orange was a member of First Baptist Church in Russellville and the widow of
 Elmer Orange. Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 4 at Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Randall Neal officiating.

 Burial followed in Berea Cemetery. Pallbearers were Howard Williams, Bob Motsinger, Tommy Page, Mack Mallory, Elliott McCarty and Charlie Snyder.

 She is survived by two sisters, Alma Cole of Russellville and Inez Reeves of Russellville; six nieces, Virginia Darden, Joyce Cox, Mary Perry, Brenda Orange, Teresa Winn and Reba Reeves; and 11 great nieces and nephews.

Orange was a Master Conservationist, having received his award from the South Logan Soil Conservation District.  He lost his leg while at work on his farm in a tractor accident.  This did not interfere with his square dancing however, because he invented an artifical foot and received a patent for it.  John and his Red River Dancers have entertained at the Kentucky State Fair where they received 'First Prize' two years in a row.  He married Alma Elliot.

Dec. 6, 2001, at Logan Memorial Hospital.

The Butler County native was a housekeeper. She was a
daughter of the late John Henry Burns and Annie Belle
Orange Burns.

Funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Young Funeral
Home with burial in Gasper River Cemetery. Visitation
will begin at 3:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include three sisters, Lena Short and Addie
Hutcheson, both of Auburn, and Hettie Barrow of
Russellville; and several nieces and nephews.
