Samuel enrolled 5 Aug 1862, mustered out 23 Sep 1863.
His mother states he "was murdered near home on 19 June 1866 . . . pistol shot which caused instant death."
Rebecca filed on 19 Jul 1890, stated her age as 63, and address as Sunny
Lane, Butler Co, KY;
Samuel left no widow or child under 16 yr, and Rebecca was without
other means of support.
