Katherine McKay Hackney of North Little Rock, died Friday, Jan. 15. She was a member of Park Hill Presbyterian Church, the church's Buisness Women's Circle, and president of North Little Rock Garden club. She was employed by the Arkansas State Police for 16 years as secretary to Captain Jack Rhea.

She was preceded in death by he first husband of 23 years, Jean H. McKay, and second of six years, Eugene E. Hackney.

Survivors include a sister-in-law; a nephew; and a niece.

She was a member of Amboy Baptist Church, Eastern Star Jewel Chapter 362 and Bendemeer Cauldren Daughters of the Nile.

Hagerman, two sons, Charles "Bubba" Hagerman and Herman Craig Hagerman, both of North Little ROck; a daughter, Vickie Harris of Little Rock; three sisters, Lorene Davis of Lonoke, Ruby Cox of Little Rock, and S.C.; a brother, Herman Gates of Lonoke; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

ALvis UL Haigwood, of North Little Rock died at his home Sunday, March 16, at age 68. Born in Batesville, he spent most of his youth in the Newport area, later moved to Florida, then back to Arkansas in the late 60s, when he opened Al's Appliance and started a 20-year career of sales, service and repairs.

He was vocational instructor at the Skill Center in Little Rock until its closing in 1983. He was a member of Crosspoint Baptist Church and a Past Master at Forest Park Masonic Lodge #747.

Survivors are his wife, Sandy; three sons, Allen Haigwood, Derrick "Rick" Pickard, and Daniel UL Haigwood; a daughter, Amber Rene Haigwood; a step-son, Devory Eubanks of Illinois; and two grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Beatrice Haigwood of North Little Rock; and a niece, Deborah Blakely.

Charles Elbert Haile, 87, of North Little Rock, a retired restaurant owner and general manager of Quapaw Towers in Little Rock, died Monday, March 2. He was a Baptist.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in North Little Rock, and U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, a retired farmer and member of the Elks Club in North Little Rock.

Ethel C. Reed (Martindale) Hale, of North Little Rock, died Sunday, April 16, in a nursing home in Eldorado, Texas.

A native of Riley Creek in Yell County, she was a life member of American Legion, DAV Auxiliary, honorary member of the Knoxville EH Club, and a triple gold star mother.

SHe was preceded in death by her husband, three sons and one daughter. Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn Bowen of London, Ark., and Mary Roden of Eldorado, texas; one brother, Carl Reed of Poteau, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren. Thomas John Hale, Sr., 76, of North Little Rock, a retired Tech Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and veteran of World War II who retired as a supervisor from Timex, died Thursday, July 20.

Lt. Col.(Ret) John O. Haley, 66, of North Little Rock died Saturday morning after a four-year battle with cancer. Born in Tiffin, Ohio, he was a graduate of Ohio State University who joined the Air Force after graduation, serving as a C-45 photomapping pilot and eventually a C-130 aircraft commander. He spent one year in Vietman.

The last two years of his military career, he was stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base, and he retired in 1973 after 22 years in the service. He the went to work for the U.S. Dept. of Labor and retired from there in February 1994.

Col. Haley was an active member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church, serving on many committees over the years and participating in the Bob Millett Bible Class and Lakewood United Methodist Men. He was also a member of the Lakewood Squares square dancing club, the Retried Officers Association and the Masonic Lodge #350 of Shelby, Ohio. He loved family get-togethers and playing with the grandchildren. A sports enthusiast who was an avid fan of the Razorbacks, he also enjoyed golf and was always ready to go to the course whenever a friend called. He also loved to travel, going on his first cruise a year ago.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary, a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Tom Grinta, of Trumball, Conn.; a daughter, Kathy Haley, of Little Rock; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Mary Kay Haley, of Cordova, Tenn.; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Lori Haley of Burnsville, Minn.; two grandchildren, Matthew and Kate Haley, of Cordova, Tenn.; a sister and brother-in-law, Harriet and Marvin Lash of Houston; and a sister-in-law, Carole Haley, of Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gayetta Ward, and a brother, Robert Haley.

Services were held Tuesday, June 16, at the Lakewood United Methodist Church with Dr. George McCoy officiating. Kie Douglas Hall of North Little Rock, longtime executive director of the Arkansa Public Employees Retirement System died Saturday, Jan. 17, at University Hospital in Little Rock of throat cancer. He was 54.

Mr. Hall, a Certified Public Assountant, had served as the investment supervisor of the State Teacher Retirement System and Comptroller of Pulaski County before becoming head of the state Public employees Retirement System in the early 1980's He was a past president of the National Association of State Retirement Administrators.

The son of Kie, Doyle and Hazel (Baker) Hall, he was a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, a member of Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church, and a former Arkansas Air National Guardsman who served on active duty during the Cuban missile crisis in 1962.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Hollowell Hall; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Russell Workman of Nashville, Tenn.; sister and brother-in-law, Bettye and Patrick Carithers of North Little Rock; aunts, Willie Mae Croxton and Sue Drennan, both of Benton; mother-in-law and his wife, Dan and Nolita Hollowell of Benton.

Titus "Ted" Hall, 77, of North Little Rock, died Friday, Sept. 6. He was a member of the Pershing United Pentecostal Church, and was retired from General Motors in Van Nuys, Calif. He was a North Little Rock auxiliary policeman and for many years worked for Arkansas Valley Security at the North Little Rock High Rise Apartments and the Pike Plaza Revenue Department.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Melva Jean Duke Hall; son and daughter, Paul Tom and Barbara Hall of North Little Rock; brother, Robert Hall of Rison; sister, Clella Mae Blue of Sheridan; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

William Harold Hampton, 74, of North Little Rock, died Wednesday, March 28, at Baptist Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Prairie View, he was a long time member of Park Hill Christian Church in North Little Rock where he was a deacon. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club of Little Rock and the Lions Club of North Little Rock.

He was in the banking business for 63 years, including 17 at the Commercial National Bank in Little Rock. Before his retirement, he was senior vice president at Capital Bank. He was a graduate of the American Institute of Banking in Chicago and taught banking classes in Little Rock for several years.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Billie Jean Hampton; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and George Arnold of Springdale; two grandsons, Nick Arnold of Conway and Bob Arnold of Memphis; a brother, Afton "Bates" Hampton of North Little Rock; and a sister, Helen Hollingsworth of Russellville.

Pansy Iva Mae Hancock, 87, of Searcy, formally of North Little Rock, died Wednesday, Nov. 20. Born in 1909 in Lebanon, Mo., her family moved by covered wagon to Cleburn County in 1925, later moving to North Little Rock, where she was a member of Pike Avenue Baptist Church. She had opened her home the past years to over 50 foster children, and numerous families of Fort Roots patients.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Hancock, Sr.; one daughter, Ann Mae May of Little Rock and eight brothers and sisters.

She is survived by one daughter, Claire Magar of Little Rock; one son, James D. Hancock Jr. of Searcy; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

He was an instructor in Little Rock Central High School's Air Force ROTC Program for 20 years. He was an American Red Cross Volunteer at the Air Base Pharmacy for seven years. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

HarvillJesse S.Jesse S. Harvill, 76, of North Little Rock, died Friday, Nov. 12. He was retired from ABF trucking, a member of Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church and Big Rock Consistery 32nd Degree Mason at Lodge #633 and a Schriner.

Mr. Harvill was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy, daughter, Debra Harvill, parents Jesse S. Sr. and Lulu Harvill, and brother Marvin Harvill.

Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Hardy of North Little Rock; four grandchildren, Tina Hardy, Tammy McNew both of North Little Rock; and Jessica and John Gillen of Littleton, Colo.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 16, at North Little Rock Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Meeks officiating.

Maude Viola "Vi" Hayes, 91, of North Little Rock, the retired owner of Mom and Vi's Oasis Cafe on Ninth Street and later in the Albert Pike Hotel, died Turesday, Jan. 12.

A celebrated member of the North Little Business & Professiona Women's Club, she served as president of the North Little Rock chapter in 1962 and 1963 and received the Club's "Woman of the Year" accolade in 1963. She was also a member of Silver Charter Chapter, American Business Women's Association, YMCA, Little Rock Women's Chamber of Commerce, the Arkansas Arts Center and Park Hill Baptist Church. She also served as a volunteer at Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock.

She was preceded in death by her two daughters, Betty Jean Meuser and Jackie Blaylock.

Survivors include 11 grandchildren, Mike Blaylock, Mary Jac Blaylock, Jamie and Dean, Stan and Linda Blaylock, Terry and Ann Blaylock, Chris Blaylock, Trish Blaylock, Mark and Susan Meuser, Linda and Alan Mittemaier, Kathy and Joe Mailander, and John and Susan Mailander; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Theo Blacklock; two nephews, Owen and Raymond Blacklock.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 15, at the Roller-Owen Funeral Home with Dr. S. Cary Heard officiating. Burial was at Edgewood Cemetery in North Little Rock.

He was an assistant foreman in the boiler shops of the Missouri Pacific shops and had been employed by the railroad for nine years.
