Nellie Lovelle (Shadrick) Powell Sackman, 71, of North Little Rock, died Monday, April 6. She was of the Pentecost faith.

Preceded in death by her parents, former husband of 24 years, Johnny Earl Powell, husband, Charles Sackman, daughter, Betty Gail Wyles, grandson, Jeffrey Dale Wyles and sister, Betty Jean Clare, she is survived by a son, Waymond Earl Powell of North Little Rock; four daughters, Lois Mae Barnett of Scott, Johnnie Marie Powell of Conway, Rebecca Nell Jackson Kelso of Clinton and Judy Lovelle Goodmanof Greenbrier; two brothers, Dave Shadrick of Jacksonville and James Shadrick of Searcy; two sisters, Joy Ransom of Conway and Anna Jean Thompson of McRae; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 9, at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Martin officiating. Burial was in McGinty Town Cemetery.

Walter Edward Sadler II, 62, of North Little Rock, died Saturday, May 29. He came to Little Rock from Lake Charles, La., where he began his 40-year career in radio and television known to many as "Ron Owens" for KAAY, retiring from KAAY in February of this year.

He served with several charitable organization with children, one which was playing Santa Claus for Channell 11. He served in the United States Air Force for four years.

He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Michael Sadler.

He is survived by one son, Walter Edward "Trey" Sadler, III of Little Rock; one daughter, Paige Sadler of Dallas, Tex.; three sisters, Evelyn Porter of Youngstown, Ohio, Helen McElivery of Greensville, S.C. and Dorothy D'Water of Bossier City, La.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 2, in Forest Hills Memorial Park.; nlrt6/3/99

Melva Gay Salee, 59, of North Little Rock, who retired last fall as manager of the recording office of the Circuit-County Clerk of Pulaski County for five years, died Monday, July 26. She had previously worked in the tax collector's office for 15 years as cashier and office manager.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Sallee; a son, Clay Blackwell of Little Rock; four daughters, Tracee Bleakley, Shanna Chudy and Shala Rudd of Conway and Tanyas Jacobs of Maumelle; four sisters, Euna mae Shepherd of Redfield, Helen Cofer of Decherd, Tenn., Dorothy Avery of El Dorado and Elene Shay of Austin, Texas; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 29, at Roller-Owen Funeral home with the Rev. Bryan Fink. Interment was at Rest Hills Memorial Park; nlrt8/5/1999

SandersDennis J.Dennis J. Sanders, 87, of North Little Rock, died Thursday, May 1. He was an Army veteran, a retired city employee of North Little Rock, a member of Calvary Baptist Church in North Little Rock, and a member of Mt. Sinai Lodge #749.

Survivors include his wife, Mable Sanders; two sons, Charles and David Sanders; three daughters, Kathy Thornton, Jerry Edwards and Elizabeth White; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.; one sister, Mable Grimes; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by a son, Dewell Sanders, and a grandson, Roy Hall.

Howard Lucian Sanders, 83, of North Little Rock, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Baptist Memorial Hospital.

The son of Herbert L and Caribel Howard Sandrs of North Little Rock, he was a North Little Rock HIgh School graduate, he served in the U.S. Army in WOrld War ii and retired as an engineer for Missouri Pacific after 40 years of servie. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Crescent Masonic Lodge #403, member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and a member of FIrst Presbyterian Church of North Little Rock.

She is survived by three sisters, Hattie Rowland, Florine Cude and Bettye Butler, all of North Little Rock; and several nieces and nephews.

SchofieldRudolph J.Ret. Col. Rudolph J. "Jim" Schofield, 81, of North Little Rock, who served in Korea under Gen. Douglas MacArthur as his war briefing officer, died Tuesday, Dec. 5.

During 30 years of military service, Mr. Schofield served in Italy, France, Germany, Japan and Korea. He received the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star and the commendation Medal with three clusters. He was a graduate of the Strategic Intelligence School of Command and General Staff College of the National Industrial College.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Severson Schofield. A rosary was held Wednesday, Dec. 6, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills and a Funeral Mass was held Thursday, Dec. 7, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at the National Cemetery. Bronnie Lee Scholar, 89, of North Little Rock, died Thursday, March 2. She was born in Greenbrier to William David and Cordelia Eliabeth Belote Lybarger. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in North Little Rock. She was a retired cosmetologist.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill, Dennis, Elmer and Dan Lybarger and two sisters, Floy Lybarger and Merlene Davis and a daughter, Wilma Joyce Pearson.

Survivors include a son, James E. Pearson Sr. of North Little Rock; step-daughter, Shelia Horton of North Little Rock; three sisters, Ava Lybarger of Clif., Delia Lofquist of Washington and Mildred Pritchard of Sevienville, Tenn.; a brother, Edwin C. Lybarger of Greenbrier; and four grandchildren.

SchriverT.M.Mr. and Mrs. T.A. Schriver, 1821 Moss street, have been notified by the War Department that their son, First Lt. T.M. Schriver, was killed in an airplane accident in the Central Pacific area December 8.

Enlisting in the Naval Air Corps Reserve in September, 1942, the 24 year old lieutenant was commissioned at Pensacola, Fla., after training at Athens, Ga., and Memphis. He was sent overseas in January, 1944.

Before induction he attended Little Rock Catholic schools and was employed by the Western Electric Company.

He also is survived by a sister, Miss Rosemary Schriver of North Little Rock; a brother, Lawrence Schriver of North Little Rock and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Frederick of North Little Rock; nlrt12/15/1944

ScottD.M.D.M. Scott of North Little Rock, died Monday, Nov. 16, at Oak Hill Manor, after a long illness.

Mr. Scott was born near Myrtle, Mo., to Elmer and Virgie Brewer Scott. He worked for Scott Plumbing Co., and he and wife were also owners of Scott Florist for many years.

He was a long-time member of First Church of the Nazarene in North Little Rock and previously Grace Church of the Nazarene.

He also was a long-time member of the Pulaski County Gospel Singing Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Virginia Stanton. His wife, Mogola Ann Scott, died on Nov. 4.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles Wayne and Romona Scott; four granddaughters, Beverly Ann Phillips and husband Ron, Becky Scott and husband David Squires, Gina Burson and husband Danny, and Dawn Cook; three great-grandchildren, Brianna Moore, Casey Burson and J.T. Burson, all of North Little Rock; and two sisters, Edith Kersey of Conway and Vesta Knopp of Scotland, Ark.

She was active in many sports and was an avid golfer. She was a member of the Burns Park Ladies Golf Association.

Maude Melvina Seals, 98, of Little Rock, died Saturday, Jan.4.

Born in Bonham, Texas, at age 2 she moved to Arkansas with her family by covered wagon. She was the youngest of nine children, and in 1916 she graduated from Graysonia High School in Clark Co.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Walter Ernest Seals; a son, Walter Morgan and a daughter, Marguerite Adeline. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene since 1921.

She is survived by a son, Billy Raymond Seals of Muskogee, Okla.; two daughters, Ernestine Luthultz of Little Rock and Ethel Lee Springer of North Little Rock; a sister, Angie Posey Rea of Pine Bluff; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandhcildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

SharpRay O. Ray O. Sharp, 82, of Little Rock, the retired owner of Sharp Motors, died Thursday, Nov. 14. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Martindale Baptist Church in Little Rock.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, St. Patrick's Ladies Guild, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Queen of Peace, Arkansas Peace Officers Auxiliary and AARP Chapter #1516.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Capt. D.L. Shook of North Little Rocck, her parents, two sisters, a brother and a granddaughter.
