ToddMardelle L.Mardelle L. Todd, 83, of Knightstown, Ind., died Friday, Jan. 28, at University Hospital in Little Rock. A lifelong resident of Indiana, Mrs. Todd was visiting family in North Little Rock for the holidays.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Paul E. Todd. Mrs. Todd is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joanie and Tom Tiefel; grandchildren, Jane Tiefel, Mary Beth and Trent Cox, and Todd and Lisa Tiefle; a great-grandchildren, Charity and Chloe Cox and Abby, Allison and John Tiefel.

Anna Regina (Prause) Toland, 81, of North Little Rock, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, at Lincoln Plaza Nursing Home in Lonoke. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary's Church in North Little Rock.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph E. Prause Sr. and Frances Hoing Prause, a sister, Helena Earhart; and four brothers, William, Albert, Herman and Joe Prause.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Hugh Wayne Toland; four sons and daughters-in-law Bill and Karen Toland of Phoenix, Md., Rick and Rita Toland, Jim and Debbie Toland, Ed and Connie Toland, all of North Little Rock; six grandsons, Matt and Janna Toland, Marcus and Amee Toland, brent Toland, Mike and Nick Toland and Casey Hayes; one granddaughter, Rachel Toland; three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Adam and Aaron Toland; numerous nieces, nephew and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 26, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial followed at Rest Hills memorial Park.

Lt. Col. Amarante "Pete" Torres, U.S. Air Force (Retired), 79, of Sherwood died Monday, Jan. 4. A native of Del Rio, Texas, he attended school at the Masonic Home in Fort Worth, Texas.

He earned his Royal Canadian Air Force Wings. He returned to the U.S. Army Air Corps after the United States entered the war; where he was an original member of the Flying Sergeants in the Army Air Corp.

He was commissioned a second lieutenant and served with the 15th Air Force in Italy as an aircraft commander flying the B-17. During his career, he was the command pilot on 62 combat missions and was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters.

He was recently honored at a dedication of the B-47 E Stratojet bomber on display at the Little Rock Air Force Base, honoring all aviators who flew the aircraft. Lt. Col Torres was the first original crew member to have his name engraved on a plaque near the craft.

He was a member of the Community Christian Church in Sherwood, a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner and an avid golfer.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Lucile (Poppy) Tores of Sherwood; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Howard Patterson Jr. of Little Rock and Kimberly Torres and Craig Richards of Atlanta.; one son, Peter David Torres of Memphis; two brothers, Frank Torres of Del Rio and Armondo Torres of Victoria, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services with full military honors were held Thursday, Jan. 7, at the Base Chapel, Little Rock Air Force Base with the Rev. Bill McCoy officiating. Interment was in the National Cemetery in Little Rock.

Donald Dean Towsley, retired Air Force Tech Sergeant, 70, of Jacksonville, died Saturday, April 19. He was born in Midwest City, Wyoming. Don served in the U.S. Army before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force serving in World War II and retired from active duty after 22 years.

Tech Sergeant Towsley's decorations include a Purple Heart, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Army Occupational Medal, National Defense Medal with a Bronze Star, Air Force Longevity Service Award with Four Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Medal.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mary Elen Towsley; daughters and sons-in-law, Dona and D.J. Edman of Boardman, Ore., Ellen and Jim Petty of Russellville, Judy Thorgarrd of Fairbands, Alaska, Nancy and Buddy Porter of North Little Rock, Debbie Nailing of Juneau, Alaska; sons and daughters-in-law, Jo and Darlene Towsley of Greenwood, No., Kenneth and Charlene Towsley of Catoosa, Okla.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a sister, Georgia Engelbrecht of Escondido, Calif.

He was formerly of Blue River, Wisconsin, where he worked on a beef farm for 20 years, then moved to Clinton, Iowa, where he manged an apartment building, later retiring to North Little Rock.

Billye Margaret Dutherage Tucker, 69, of North Little Rock, died Wednesday, Sept. 24.

She was a member of Baring Cross Baptist Church and Homemaker's Sunday School Class. She was a retired dispatcher for the North Little Rock Electric Department where she was the first woman to hold the dispatcher position, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Transportation Union.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Charles L. Tucker of North Little Rock; daughter and son-in-law, Doug and Kay Tucker Verheul of Coppell, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Mary Tucker of Little Rock; grandchildren, Philip, Lisa, Ashley Uerheul and Tyler Merritt Tucker.

James Howard Tucker, 70, of North Little Rock, a longtime member of the First Assembly of God Church in North Little rock, died Saturday, Dec. 16.

He was known affectionately to all family and friends as "Wee-Hunt". He retired in 1990 from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. after 42 years of service. He was also a retired sergeant major in the Arkansas Army National Guard, where he served for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Caleb and Leona Tucker, two brothers Carl Tucker and Cecil Tucker, and one sister, Mildred Banks, all of North Little Rock.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Zelma Tucker of North Little Rock; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Tammy Tucker of Cbot; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Phillip Mariner of Sherwood; three granddaughters: Rachael Tucker of Cabot, Stephanie Murry of North Little Rock and Amber Carter and her husband Kenny of Springfield, Mo.; one sister, Louise Helton of North Little Rock.

Ruby Clements Tyler, 91, of North Little Rock, died Saturday, Dec. 5.

She was the widow of Virgil Tyler. She was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church where she taught the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class for many years.

There she began a special recognition club for active Sunday School members who reached their 90th birthday providing for them a beautiful plaque that hangs on the wall with their names on it.

She spent many years as a public school teacher in Jacksonville, Lee County and North Little Rock. She was a member of North Little Rock Retired Teachers, Alpha Delta Kappa and the AARP.

She is survived by two sons, John Tyler of St. Louis, Mo., and James Tyler of Livermore, Calif.; a sister, Ruth Stanley of North Little Rock;and three grandchildren.
