William Skene and Johanna Bertha Erber
were married 8 September 1926
in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. Grandma
had been sent to Canada by her father, Johann Heinrich Christian Gustav Erber
(aka Harry Gustav Erber), from London, England. After her arrival, Grandma became a receptionist in a doctor's
office in St. Catharines, Ontario. Through a Pen Pal Club, she met my grandfather
and after William had met with her for the third time,
he proposed to her. At the time he was living in Kingston, Ontario and
Grandma was living in St. Catharines, Ontario. Shortly after the
marriage, they moved to Peterborough, Ontario.
William and Johanna had 2 children together.
