ARRIVAL OF THE GREYHOUND

The ship Greyhound, Captain Wright, arrived at her anchorage yesterday at 2pm. She left Gravesend on Sunday, January 22, arriving off the Start on the 24th, where she landed the pilot. Experienced a heavy gale in the Channel on the 30th, and a very heavy sea which stove in one of her life-boats. Crossed the line on 1st of March. In longitude 36deg., 22min., 51sec., W passed the meridian of the Cape on March 29. Sighted Hogg Island on April 7. On April 16 she shipped several heavy seas down the hatchways, and her quarter-boat was smashed to pieces. Arrival off the Peninsula on Sunday last [May 7th], and anchored in harbour as above. She is fitted with Graveley and Co's distilling apparatus, capable of distilling 400 gallons per day.
