ARRIVAL OF THE OPAWA

The New Zealand Shipping Company's ship Opawa, Captain Mathers, arrived from London this morning, after a good passage of 86 days from the Nore, and 78 days from land to land. The ship brings a large number of passengers, who have arrived in excellent health, not sickness having been experienced during the passage. The Opawa called at Tristan d'Acunha on Jan 11, taking live stock, &c., aboard there. No accidents of any kind happened, and very fine weather was experienced throughout the passage. The Opawa is fitted with Haslam's refrigerating machinery, and after discharging here will proceed to the Bluff to load meat, &c. The ship wilol be berthed at the Gladstone pier this afternoon. Large quantities of ice were passed just prior to passing the Cape of Good Hope.
