Sailed London, 2nd November 1879 (via Falmouth Nov. 7th) to Auckland 4th February 1880

One of the fastest sailers visiting New Zealand in the seventies was the barque British Empire, owned by Mr George Duncan of London and sent out by the Shaw Savill Co. She made two trips to Auckland and one to Dunedin under Captain Rowe.
