Farewell, what memories of you come Our mother's friend and ours As hostess in your dear old home Among the trees and flowers And neighbours when you meet with us In life's sunshine and flowers. |
Was it our sister's wedding day Or when our brother slept You joyed with us when we rejoiced Wept with us when we wept And later for the motherless Your constant kindness kept. |
Sleep on dear friend until He comes Who holds our life in store And in his coming Kingdom wide The new earth's glorious shore May we be neighbours once again When death shall be no more. |
