There was another Hindostan, a vessel
of 833 tons, which brought a number of Government immigrants out to Auckland in 1873. She
left London on September 12, 1873, and reached the Waitemata on December 28, 1873. Her
commander was Captain Peek, who was formerly in the Beth Shan, and later made the record
passage to Lyttelton in the Waimate.
