Dear Sir,

I have made the enclosed list, and signed it as correct up to the present time, as there is a probability of the pilots bearing the rest before morning. The emigrants are getting on well and becoming settled, with the exception of one child Carter Pettit who has been ill, but is now better. Sea sickness has for a time nearly disappeared and cheerfulness for the most part pervades the whole, especially since the change of wind has released our anchorage from Deal, and we have every prospect of speedily quitting the channel.

                                                                              I have the Honor
                                                                                 to be
                                                                                     yours obediently
