I have the honor herewith to transmit to you a report of the Commdg Officer of Co. D. 91st Regt. P. V relative to Pvt [??] William H. Michener a private in Co D 91st Pa Vols. [several words are crossed out] I would add that this man has never been on duty with the Regt having been detached at Chester Barracks. [On 2 March 1864, Colonel Gregory detached him for duty with the recruiting service in Chester, Pennsylvania.]

I have the honor to furnish the following information in relation to the Case of William H. Michener a private in co D 91st Pa. Vols. He was enlisted by Lt. H. W. Shipley on the 16th day of February 1864. He was Mustered by Lt. Hildeburn on the same day. On his descriptive List he is represented as being 19 years of age.
I do not think he is physically capable of performing active military duty in the field.
