Near Petersburg Va June 30th 1864
Special Order No 55

Upon the application of Capt. Matthew Hall Commd Co. "E" the following changes is [sic] hereby ordered in the non Commissioned officers of that Company

I. Corporal Joseph H. Smith to be reduced to the ranks by reasons Stated

II. 5th Sergt John L Graham to be promoted to 1st Sergt. vice Lewis Brophy died June 23rd, from wounds recieved [sic]. June 18th 1864

III Private Samuel E. Conrad to be 5th Sergt vice Graham promoted

IV Private Wm W. Burns, Jacob W Affleback & Francis P. Donahue to be Corporals for soldierly qualities during the last Campaign

Michael Connelly private Co K 91st Reg PV was with the Regt on the advance to Chancellorsville April 28 1863 he was with the Regt in the action of May 3 since which time he has not been heard from was reported as missing in action
