General Gregory and Judge Roberts

Gen. Gregory recently notified Judge Roberts, of Harris county, that the county would have to take the burden of the negroes there off the hands of the Freedmen's Bureau. This the Judge flatly refused to do, even after he was "had up" before the General, and exorted with some severity. He would neither receive instructions from the Bureau, nor take its charge away from its supervision.
