Before the war

He was born in 1836/37 (5 (24 in 1861)). He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (5).

When he enlisted, he was a moulder (5).

Description

When he enlisted, he was 5 feet 4 inches tall, and had a light complexion, light eyes, and dark hair (5).

During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 15 October 1861 (1, 5). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Lieutenant Pierce (5). He was in company F (1, 7-8 (corp)).

He deserted on 21 June 1862 (3). He returned to duty on 29 June 1862 (3).

On 8 September 1863, he was in Washington, DC--perhaps in Haremont Hospital (2).

He mustered out at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 2 November 1864, when his term expired (1, 4, 5, 6). He was a private, in company F (7-8).
