Henry Bozher

Note

He is in the company I register of deserters (2), but not the company I descriptive roll, and he is in the compay K descriptive roll (4), but not the company K register of deserters. Because he served in company I according to the Pennsylvania Archives card file (3), I have assumed he served only in company I.

Before the war

He was born in Burlington, New Jersey (3, 4). He was 18 years old when he was enlisted (3, 4).

He was a laborer when he was enlisted (3, 4). He was living in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, when he was enlisted (3).

Description

He was 5 feet 1-1/8 inches tall, and had a dark complexion, dark eyes, and brown hair (3, 4).

During the war

He was enlisted and mustered into service on 25 February 1864 (1, 3, 4). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Captain Stretch (3, 4). He was mustered in, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as a private in company I, by Captain Stretch (1, 3, 4).

He deserted on 27 April 1864 or 25 February 1864, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1, 2 [27 Apr], 3 [27 Apr 64]). (Perhaps he was dropped as a deserter on 27 April.)
