Description

When he enlisted, he was 5 feet 6 inches tall, and had a dark complexion, hazel eyes, and dark hair (2).

During the war

He also served in company E of the 6th Pennsylvania Infantry (4, 5, 6).

He was a substitute (1). He enlisted and was mustered into service as a private for one year, on 22 March 1865, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania (1, 2, 3, 4). He was enlisted and mustered into service by Captain Bowan (2). He was a private in company E (1, 7, 8).

He mustered out on 10 July 1865 with his company (1, 3, 4). He was a private, in company E (7, 8).

After the war

In 1890, he was living in Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania (6).

On 9 September 1890, he successfully applied for a pension, from Pennsylvania (4, 5).

He died on 12 April 1902 (4).
