During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 14 November 1861 (1, 2, 4 [Aug 61]). He enlisted at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (2). He was mustered in, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as a private in company I (1, 2, 3 [co. C (sic)], 7).

He was discharged on 16 May 1862 on surgeon's certificate of disability (1, 2, 4). He was a private, in company I (7).

He also served in company C of the 121st Pennsylvania (4, 5, 6). He was mustered in on 5 August 1862 (5). He was discharged on surgeon's certificate of disability on 14 March 1862 [sic] (5).

He served for eighteen months (3 [sic]).

After the war

After his discharge, he lived in Washington, DC (4).

On 10 July 1867, he was admitted to the Eastern Branch of the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers (3, 4). He had general debility (3). He was not receiving a pension (3).

On 1 September 1867, he was discharged from the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers (3, 4). He was dropped because of desertion (4).

At some later time he was an inmate of the Soldiers Home in Washington DC (4).
