He was living with James and William Fettus (perhaps his father and uncle??), Margaret Fettus (perhaps his mother or aunt?) and William, James, and Sarah Ann Fettus (perhaps his siblings or cousins?) In 1860, he was living in ward 1, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (10). He was a sign painter (10). He was living with Margaret Fettus (perhaps his mother or aunt), and William and James (perhaps his siblings or cousins) (10).

In 1861/1862, he married Maria L [unknown family name] (13). In 1900, she had had five children, three of whom were alive (13).

During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service as a private on 10 September 1862, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1, 4, 5). He was a private in company B (1, 5, 16, 17, 18).

He was discharged on 1 February 1863 on surgeon's certificate of disability (1, 2, 4, 5 [11 Feb/Sep 1863]). He was a private, in company B (16, 17, 18).

After the war

In 1870, he was living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (11). He was living with his wife Maria and children George and Louisa (11). He was a sign painter (11).

In 1880, he was living at 1527 South 11th Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (12). He was living with his wife Maria, and children George, Louisa, and William (12). He was a sign writer (12).

In 1890, he was living at 1527 South 11th Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (5, 6). He was a painter (6). Also living there was George H Fetters [?] (an architect) (6).

On 29 March 1900, he successfully applied from Pennsylvania for a pension (7, 8).

In 1900, he was living at 1527 South 11th Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (13). He was living with his wife Maria, son William, daughter Louisa Price, son-in-law David Price, niece Gladys Price, and a boarder (13). He was a house and sign painter (13).

He died on 17 September 1902 (7, 9). The funeral was held on Sunday from 341 North 52nd Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (his residence) (9). He was buried at Philanthropic Cemetery (9).

On 9 October 1902, his widow, Maria L Fetters, successfully applied from Pennsylvania for a pension (8).

In 1910, his widow, Miria [?] Fettus, was living at 341 52nd Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (14). She was living with her daughter Louisa and Louisa's family (14).

FETTUS.--Suddenly, on September 17, 1902, Hamilton George Fettus, residence 341 North Fifty-second street, formerly of 1527 South Eleventh street. Due notice of the funeral will be given.
