He was born in 1833/34 (3 (29 in 1863)).

During the war

He was drafted (1, 2, 3). He was mustered into service as a private in the 118th Pennsylvania Infantry on 24 July 1863 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1, 2, 3). He was a private in company B of the 118th Pennsylvania (2, 3, 5, 7).

He was wounded on 27 July 1864, at Petersburg, Virginia (2).

On 2 June 1865, he was transferred from the 118th Pennsylvania to company F of the 91st Pennsylvania (1, 2, 3 [1 June], 6). He was a private in company F of the 91st Pennsylvania (1, 6).

He mustered out with his company on 10 July 1865 (1, 3). He was a private, in company F (6).

After the war

He married Maria [unknown family name] (7). She was born on 12 January 1845 (7).

On 25 July 1877, he applied successfully for a pension (4, 5).

On 6 October 1894, he died (7). He was buried in Riverview Cemetery, Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey (7).

On 22 October 1894, his widow, Maria Harvey, applied successfully from New Jersey for a pension (4, 5).

On 9 April 1907, his widow, Maria Harvey, died (7). She was buried in Riverview Cemetery, Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey (7).
