John Lowery

Before the war

He was born in 1838/39 (3 (24 in 1863)).

During the war

He was a substitute (1, 2 [drafted], 3 [substitute]). He was mustered into service as a private in company B of the 118th Pennsylvania Infantry on 15 July 1863 at Chambersburg, Pennsylvania (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).

He was wounded at Peeble's Farm, Virginia, on 30 September 1864 (2).

He was transferred from the 118th Pennsylvania to company F of the 91st Pennsylvania on 1 June 1865 (1, 2, 3). He was a private in company F of the 91st Pennsylvania (1, 7).

He mustered out with his company on 10 July 1865 (1, 3). He was a private, in company F (7).

After the war

On 26 June 1879, he successfully applied for a pension (4, 5).

On 20 May 1885, he died (6). He was buried in the Brookdale Cemetery, in Dedham, Norfolk County, Massachusetts (6).

On 9 August 1886 [?], his widow, Eliza J Lowey, successfully applied for a pension (4, 5).
