He was born on 20 March 1837 (11; 9 (21 in 1861)). He was born in County Antrim, Ireland (11). He was born to Samuel Atcheson Molyneaux and Jane Wilson (11).

During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 9 October 1861, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1, 9 [as 1st sgt]). He was in company B (1), apparently as one of the original sergeants (6, 14 (pvt), 15 (pvt)).

On 20 August 1862, he testified (briefly!) for the defense at Alpheus Bowman's court martial (4).

On 12 March 1863, he returned to the regiment from a furlough (2).

He was promoted to orderly sergeant on 1 May 1863 (3).

He fought at the Battle of Gettysburg (13).

He was killed in action on 2 July 1863 at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania (1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 [3 Jul]). He was buried at the National Cemetery, Gettysburg, section B grave 83 (1, 5, 9). He was first sergeant of company B (1, 14 (sgt), 15 (sgt)).

After the war
