On 2 June 1865, he was transferred from the 118th Pennsylvania Infantry (1, 3). He was a private in company C of the 91st Pennsylvania Infantry (1, 6).

He mustered out with his company on 10 July 1865 (1). He was a private, in company C (6).

After the war

On 18 November 1889, he applied successfully from Pennsylvania for a pension (4, 5).

He again applied for a pension on 18 February 1907 (5).

a William Rambo is living in Chester, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, with no identifying information. However, the Pennsylvania Veterans' Burial Cards (available on Ancestry, accessed 3 December 2010) have a William Rambo, who died in 1909 and was buried in Chester County, and who served in company K of the 25th Pennsylvania
